Zen Dog accommodates up to 4 guests in 2 separate cabins – all with plenty of headroom (Mike the owner is 6ft 2in)
There’s warm air central heating, 240v electricity sockets, a portable air-conditioner, decent WiFi and four HD Smart TVs (in the saloon, both cabins and upstairs in the cockpit) with Netflix and catchup.
Guest safety is very important to us. There are 4 linked smoke detectors, a CO detector, fire blanket, life jackets and a comprehensive first aid kit.
The forward Master Cabin has a 5ft King Size bed, wardrobes, TV and en-suite access to the WC/Wetroom.
We supply good quality John Lewis bedding and towels for all guests
The rear Guest Cabin can be configured with two 3ft single beds or a 5ft King Size bed.
There’s a small wardrobe, drawer space, a small sofa, a TV and a big window.
The Lower Saloon has a comfortable U shaped seating area – easily capable of accommodating 4 guests around a height adjustable table.
There’s a 32″ smart HD TV, and a central heating outlet
The Galley Kitchenette area has a large sink, worktops, storage cupboards, a very generous fridge (by boat standards) with a very small freezer/ice making tray and a microwave. There’s an electric kettle, a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and a toaster.
There’s cutlery and good quality unbreakable crockery and drinking glasses (because it can get rough when out at sea!) but no pots or pans and the gas hob has been disconnected and cannot be used for insurance reasons. Who would want to cook on holiday when Lymington has such great restaurants?
The Wet Room/WC has two doors – giving en-suite access from the main cabin and from the saloon.
It features an electric flush WC, a sink set into a vanity unit with a large mirror and a counter top for cosmetics and bathroom products.
A curtain can divide the room in two – wet and dry – the shower head then attaches to a fitting on the wall and guests can have very good, fairly powerful hot showers.
We still prefer to use the Yacht Haven’s amazing 5-star showers when we stay on board, though.
They have individual shower cubicles with plenty of space, basins and heated mirrors. There are hair dryers and even hair straighteners.
The downside is that they are 300m away but there are pretty decent 4-star facilities much closer to Zen Dog.
Upstairs in the Cockpit, Zen Dog’s cockpit roof retracts electrically to open the whole top deck up to the sun. There are 2 large seating areas – both with tables. The rear (stern) seating area has roll up canvas camper covers and the table can be lowered and a special cushion added to create a fantastic sun pad to top up your tan. There’s an HD Smart TV to keep you entertained whilst enjoying a “sundowner”. There’s also a double sun bed on the front deck (take care up there!).
Lymington Yacht Haven is a beautiful spot. There are stunning views over the Solent towards the Isle of Wight and miles of waterside walks.
The famous Lido outdoor swimming pool is very close and the marina office rent out regular and electric bikes (booking essential)
Lymington Town Centre’s independent and big-name shops, restaurants and bars are about a 15min walk away.
There’s free parking, 24/7 security and help, excellent 5-star showers & facilities.
A big attraction is the onsite highly-rated Haven Bar & Restaurant.
It is one of the only places in Lymington with a sea view – from both the main restaurant and the first-floor terrace. It is perfect for breakfast, “happy hour” or evening meals. Best of all, they offer our guests a discount! Click here for their website.
